Motivation & Journey behind TCL
Introduction:
My beloved engineering school ENSIAS ❤️ Graduation day, a memorable moment with friends ❤️ Back in 2017, fresh from the grind of engineering school, I found myself neck-deep in the world of JavaScript applications. I was just starting my career as a developer and I had a trusty sidekick - WebStorm. As my go-to code editor, it was the tool I felt most comfortable using. But all that was about to change. The Catalyst:
Mohammed VI Polytechnique University (UM6P) Agora place 🇲🇦 💫 While I was working at Mohammed VI Polytechnique University (UM6P), an enthusiastic recommendation from a colleague led me to Visual Studio Code (VSCode). As I began to adapt to this new set of tools and features, I noticed that VSCode had many advantages. However, there was one specific thing I found lacking - an efficient way to streamline my debugging workflow by automating the insertion of log messages. This was a feature that I began to realize was more crucial than ever before. The Quest for a Solution:The VSCode marketplace, with its myriad extensions, seemed to hold the answer. I dived in, optimistic about finding a solution that would streamline my debugging process. But my exploration revealed a gap. There were solutions, but they were either too sparse or not precisely what I needed. I realized that if I had this specific need, others might have it too. And so, the idea for Turbo Console Log was born.Birth of Turbo Console Log:I decided to take the matter into my own hands and create the tool I needed. I was ready to face the challenges that come with developing an extension that fits the specific needs of a developer's debugging workflow. There were moments of struggle, but each hurdle only made the solution more robust. After weeks of hard work, Turbo Console Log was ready for launch.Embracing Turbo Console Log:The extension was released and the response was overwhelming. Developers who had been seeking a solution to the same problem embraced Turbo Console Log. The value it provided was clear - it significantly reduced the time and effort spent on inserting and managing console logs. The feedback poured in and with it, the number of users grew.Today and Beyond:
Arc de triomphe France 🇫🇷 Fast forward to 2023, I find myself in France, leading the development of Full Stack JavaScript applications, while Turbo Console Log now boasts over 900,000 users. It's surreal to reflect on this journey - from a personal need in Morocco to a tool that assists so many developers worldwide. Every piece of feedback, every story of how Turbo Console Log has improved a developer's workflow, makes the journey worthwhile. And we're just getting started. With an exciting roadmap of enhancements and features planned, Turbo Console Log will continue to evolve, empowering developers to debug more efficiently than ever before.
